Women living with HIV around the world celebrate this historic victory alongside our sisters in Kenya . We recognize that this decision carries far-reaching consequences, not only for women living with HIV in Kenya but also for countless women living with HIV worldwide who have experienced violations of their rights to bodily autonomy.
The ICW Family is proud to have played a key role in a landmark case where the high court in Kenya ruled that forced sterilization of four women living with HIV violated their fundamental human rights. The court's judgement firmly establishes that women living with HIV possess the inherent right to make informed choices regarding their reproductive decisions.
